In June 2015, SBSS piloted the Bridges to Advance Late-Life Depression (BALLAD) Intervention in partnership with the University of Southern California, Department of Family Medicine (USC DFM) and Eisner Pediatric & Family Medical Center (Eisner).

The BALLAD Intervention pilot creates an integrated care team to better screen and treat depression in older adults receiving primary care at Eisner and/or social services at SBSS.

Depression in older adults is under recognized and under treated.  Even when identified many patients at community clinics will not receive mental health therapy due to stigma or issues of access. Project participants/patients will benefit from having access to SBSS’ continuum of services designed to empower older adults to live well, feel well and age well. In addition, SBSS will engage caregivers and family members of older adult patients through targeted Workshops/Activities and Events.

Made possible by a grant from Archstone Foundation.
