1 in 2 older adults struggle to make ends meet and cover their basic needs.*
At SBSS, we believe everyone should be able to age with dignity and respect, living independently for as long as possible.
But we can’t do it alone.
Every year, the number of older adults who need our help grows.
You can make an immediate impact today:
Genoveva is a 63 year old mother of five. Becoming a mother at the age of 19, she dedicated her entire adult life to caring for her family.
As her children grew up, Genoveva felt lost and lonely, no longer needing to play the caregiver role she did most of her life. For years, she felt depressed not knowing what she could do. Then, SBSS opened the Echo Park Senior Center.
When she first came to us, she felt shy about participating. She had never attended any exercise classes, let alone had the time to exercise on her own.
Now, Genoveva enjoys every single exercise, dance and activity we offer. She even met the love of her life at our Center!
At SBSS, we welcome older adults into our family and support their ability to live healthy, active lifestyles.
Your donation makes these life-changing experiences happen.
