Operating from 11 locations in the downtown Los Angeles area, including out multipurpose center, adult day health care center, six congregate meal sites, and three housing complexes, we provide comprehensive nutrition, social, and medical services. As the oldest senior services agency in Los Angeles, SBSS is widely recognized for the community it has built around the innovative programs offered to seniors. Our key programs and services include:

Social Services
SBSS social workers work closely with seniors and their caregivers to assess their needs and to develop an integrated plan of care. Our social workers maintain long-term relationships with our seniors, serving as advocates for them at each critical juncture, and they routinely settle affairs and make final arrangements for them…read more

SBSS is committed to ensuring seniors are provided with access to healthy and balanced meals, which we provide to seniors through six congregate meal sites, home delivered meals, and assistance with grocery shopping. Each day SBSS also offers a nutritious, hot lunch to seniors at our multipurpose senior center, where seniors have the opportunity to socialize and take part in other programs and activities…read more

Our multilingual staff provides the highest level of care and they develop close bonds with participants and their loved ones. The programs are housed in our S. Mark Taper Foundation Adult Day Health Care Center, which is open from 7:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday to accommodate working families. Visit our Adult Day Services page for detailed information about the programs we offer.
