Wellness looks different for everyone.
For one older adult, it may mean having access to nutritious meals that keep them healthy. For another, it's the ride that gets them to a doctor's appointment, the fitness class that builds strength, the workshop that teaches a new skill, or the friendships that make each day a little brighter.

The choices we make as we age can have a profound impact on our health, independence, and quality of life. Research shows it's never too late to adopt healthy habits that help older adults stay active, connected, and confident while reducing the risk of chronic disease, falls, and social isolation. Whether through regular exercise, balanced nutrition, lifelong learning, or meaningful social connections, wellness is one of the strongest predictors of healthy aging.
At St. Barnabas Senior Services (SBSS), wellness isn't defined by a single program. It's woven into every aspect of healthy aging.

Our mission is to empower older adults to Live Well, Feel Well, and Age Well, and every service we provide is designed to support physical, mental, and social well-being while helping people remain independent for as long as possible.
That means creating opportunities for older adults to build strength through fitness classes, access nutritious meals, stay connected through community programs, learn new skills, and reach essential services through reliable transportation. These aren't simply individual programs, they're the building blocks of healthier aging.
Each day, our community comes together over nutritious meals, fitness classes, educational workshops, transportation services, and meaningful social connections. Individually, these programs improve health and quality of life. Together, they create a foundation for healthier, happier aging. SBSS offers daily meals, health and fitness programs, transportation, technology education, care management, and a wide range of community services that help older adults stay active and connected.
Here are just a few of the many ways SBSS members are weaving wellness into their daily lives.

"I wasn't eating balanced meals anymore. Now I look forward to getting lunch delivered at my doorstep throughout the week."
"When I stopped driving, I thought I'd lose my independence. SBSS Transportation helps me get to my appointments, the grocery store, and the center without having to rely on my family."

"I didn't think I could learn new technology. The workshops showed me that I could, and now I feel much more confident navigating everyday life."
"It's wonderful to have a place where you can work toward your health goals with people cheering you on every step of the way."

Every meal served, every ride provided, every fitness class attended, every workshop offered, and every conversation shared represents more than a service, it is an investment in healthier aging. By investing in wellness today, we're helping older adults maintain their independence, improve their health, and continue living the lives they want for years to come.
At SBSS, wellness is woven into everyday life because everyone deserves the opportunity to Live Well, Feel Well, and Age Well.
